Finals on Sunday will commence at 10.30am and should be finished by around 4-5pm.

At this stage, we will not be putting a cap on numbers for this event, but if the number of players exceeds the number of machines or space available, then we may need to introduce one at a later date.

QUALIFYING:

* Once all participants are finalized, all players will be seeded based on their IFPA rankings position as of 30/6/2018.
* The games chosen will be based on what is available at the Venue. (minimum 20 machines, list will be made available closer to the date)

Players will be placed into groups of 4 once the seedings have been completed. (4 player games)
Each group will be assigned 3 games at random. Each game has the same points ... 7 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 1 for 4th

* First round groupings - Slaughter (Strongest seed plays weakest, second-strongest plays second-weakest, etc)
* Second & subsequent round groupings - Swiss (Players will be paired against players with the same win-loss record. No attempts will be made to pair players against previously unfaced opponents (adjacent pairing is used)).

All games will be played as a 4-player game (unless machine is unable to allow it and/or notified otherwise). Matchplay will allocate your machine banks, along with player order for each game.

There will be 6 qualifying rounds (18 games per player). The to 24 players will advance to the A Grade Finals on Sunday morning, Qualifiers 25-72 will be split in to B/C/D grades. FLIP FRENZY

There will be 2 Flip Frenzy events during the weekend. Please check above for days & times.
The format for both Flip Frenzy events will be exactly the same.

All players are entered into a random draw, with 2 players drawn to play each available machine. First name chosen is the player 1. The rest of the players are placed in one central queue.

When a game is completed:
- The loser stays on the same machine, unless they have lost twice in a row, in which case the winner stays on.
- The player leaving the machine moves to the back of the queue.
- The player staying on the machine will always play as Player 1 in the next match.
- The player at the front of the queue moves up to play the player staying on.

At the end of three hours, no more games may start. The winner is the player with the most games won. Ties are broken by fewest losses.

We will place a cap of 90 players on each Flip Frenzy at this stage, but may change depending on machine availability and space.
Late players are still welcome to attend and join in depending on availability, but you will be games behind everyone else.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PIN-GOLF

Qualifying will take place on Thursday 19th July. 4pm-10pm. After 10pm, no more qualifying games may commence.
All players will play 18 Pin-golf holes during qualifying. The top 8 players on Pin-Golf qualifying score will advance to finals.

Finals will start sometime just after 10pm. Players will be split into 2 groups of 4 in Slaughter format (1,4,5,8 & 2,3,6,7).
Each group will play 3 Pin-Golf holes drawn at random, with the lowest 2 scores in each group advancing through the final round.
The final round will see another 3 Pin-Golf holes drawn at random, with the lowest score being declared the winner.

Ties for any placings in the Top 8 during qualifying, or to determine who advances into the next rounds of finals will be decided by a single game playoff drawn on a random Pin-Golf hole until broken.

There will be payouts for finalists and prizes for players in their best 'golfing' attire on the evening.

As you can all appreciate, an event of this nature will require a truckload of help and support over the whole weekend. If you are able to help or assist with any of the following:
* Providing and/or transporting machines (will probably need a minimum of 20 machines)
* Scoring (Matchplay, Excel)
* Machine set up and repairs
* Anything else that comes to mind.....
please contact Jimmy or myself. There may be a reward or two on offer for anyone willing to provide help.

We are pumped and excited to be able to put this event on again for 2018 - we look forward to seeing everyone in Brisbane in July!

Thanks for posting this Lambo (and welcome to the forum!).

This will be an awesome event and, as I've said before on numerous occasions, this is the best pinball competition in Australia hands down. Having Netherworld - one of the best barcades in the country - in the vicinity of the tournaments just sweetens the deal. So much so that I'm heading up on the Tuesday just to enjoy some free time at Netherworld before the chaos of the competitions begin!

If anyone has any doubts about going to this event I'd strongly suggest to the contrary. Get registered and come and enjoy the best time you can have playing games (and maybe having a few drinks here and there...).
