At the risk of being uncharacteristically nit-picky, I feel I should correct Marc’s over-simplified description of my last suggestion for a battle as “best short playtime tabletop games”. That would be an awfully large and difficult to compare group of games. While the games I suggested are “short playtime” (making it more practical to get them all played) the key point of commonality of the group is the Yahtzee-style dice mechanic at the core of each game - the idea being to have a main mechanic that is probably already familiar to everyone. See the original suggestion here:

On the subject of the Nintendo online service for the Switch, if I understand the discussion on the podcast correctly it’s “friendcodes with benefits”. That sounds like something that might be worth paying for! 😃 😍😈

Ahh, thanks for the correction Mark. I might have got 'lost' in the detail. There was a lot of tabletop info!

I do like the idea of dice games.. I saw a dice version of Pandemic which looked like fun. Very close to picking that up.

Marc and I managed a quick 2 player game of Lord Of The Rings: Journey To Mordor last Friday. Apparently Marc liked it to the point of wanting his own copy. The way the dice are colour-coded to affect other players, it works even better as a 4 player game.
